The rear spark plugs on the 2005 Sebring are positioned at angles that make them difficult to reach. The Sebring, in 2005, used a coil-over ignition system--also called a "distributorless ignition system." Instead of a power distributor, the Sebring used coil packs; these coils were secured with simple bolts. However, once the coils are removed, access to the plugs is somewhat difficult. A special tool, called a "U-joint" is needed to access the plugs. This U-joint tool is a kind of socket extension that fits onto a regular socket wrench, which allows you to put
torque onto a bolt (or in this case, a spark plug); the tool makes it possible to reach spark plugs positioned at an award angle and is available at most auto parts stores.
